Take control of getting your site established by a developer and understand the process it will save you money and attain you a site that actually works the intended purpose!
1. Knowing your business and how you are currently established in your market.

A logo is a central step to building a business. It is the face of your business. And like your face represents the tone of your business, indicates the service and reveals the professionalism or lack there of.
People spend a lot of money on the formation of their logo and walk away with no artwork files. Then a couple months down the track when they need to put signage on their new building they cannot track the design studio down that formulated the original logo for them and so incur costs to have it recreated. Using images in your logo is not very easy to regulate. For example it is hard to to reverse into black and white. Images also have limitations when it comes to size – they can only be reproduced to a certain size before they start pixilation.

Using gradients in your logo is not recommended. This too can have limitations when it comes to output for ie: gradients are hard to reproduce when embroidering fabrics.

Confirm that you accept a copy of your logo in CMYK high resolution 300 dpi (for printing use) and RGB 72 dpi(for web use).

It is important to have a style guide of your logo. It will clearly show you how to use your logo so it looks exactly the same every time it is reproduced. This allows you to keep your corporate image consistent.
Tip 9
Make sure that you get a letter from the design studio declaring that you own the copyright to your logo.

The common question asked when acquiring a new projector for the home, office, or classroom is: do I take an LCD projector or a DLP projector? LCD, which stands for ‘liquid crystal device’ and DLP, an acronym for ‘digital light processing’ are the two top projector imaging technologies. With so many brands and different models available, it can be confusing for clients to pick between the two technologies. The simple fact of the matter is that LCD projectors offer far superior image quality and colour accuracy. The following article will explain why DLP projectors struggle with creating an equal level of image quality.
Think of a set of blinds in your house covering your bedroom window. With the twist of a rod you can turn the shutters open or closed, according to if you want to let light in or not. And that is exactly how an LCD projector works. Each pixel functions like a single shutter on a set of blinds to either send light through or to block it. DLP on the other hand is made up of millions of microscopic mirrors or ‘pixel elements’ as pros like to call them. Each pixel element works to either reflect light or block it.
How the light source is processed from when the projector is turned on to when the image reaches your screen is vitally significant with regard to image quality, brightness and colour accuracy. LCD projectors direct white light from the lamp by splitting it into red, blue and green components, by three mirrors which send the coloured light to 3 stand alone LCD panels. The 3 LCD panels form the elements of the image by shining each pixel on and off. The pixels are then meshed in a glass prism to create the projector image. An important point to realise about LCD projectors is that all three colours are projected onto your projected surface simultaneously. The way a DLP projector works is widely different and even how an image looks is not the same. With DLP, white light from the lamp is sent through a rotating colour wheel with transparent red, blue and green segments, at speeds up to 11,000 rpm/s. This way of forming an image requires a sequence of red, blue and green light. The millions of micro mirrors mentioned above reflect the coloured light on the pixels to construct the image elements. The elements of the image are sent in sequence on the screen, one colour at a time. The viewer’s vision will then put together each coloured element of the image into a single total image. From LCD projectors, all colours are available all the time to form high brightness and spectacular colour accuracy. In DLP, only one colour is available at a time, and so causing lower colour brightness and accuracy. Some manufacturers have put a white segment into the colour wheel to improve all over brightness, but this also degrades colour accuracy.
I read in forums all the time that DLP gives a higher contrast ratio and as such must be superior quality. For those uncertain, the contrast ratio is a measure of a display system defined as the ratio of the luminance of the brightest white to that of the darkest black that the projector is capable of. DLP projectors do possess high contrast specifications when compared to many LCD projectors. Initially, this seems to be a plus, however, in truth, the true black level is determined by the ambient light in the room when the projector is being utilised. Do not be duped by contrast specifications on websites and in brochures.
When the content you plan to view requires moving images, DLP projection technology can also have image imperfections, or ‘artifacts’. The most often seen artifact that a DLP projector displays with moving images is colour break up. Colour break up is unavoidable in DLP systems because moving images change position between the time red, blue and green colours are projected. LCD projectors do not have this problem because all colours are projected with the others. DLP builders have developed 3DLP solutions using 3 chips to resolve the colour break up issue, but the price tag of these projectors make them impractical for the large part of businesses and consumers.
Another variance between LCD and DLP is how they make up for the refractive qualities of light. Think back to high school science, and recall how various colours of light refract different amounts when passing through the same lens. The downfall with DLP projectors is that they use the one same panel for the same lens to project Red, Blue and Green. All 3 colours are obviously not the same and refract light differently. Usually with a DLP projector, some yellow colour will appear above and some extra blue will come through below an image containing something as simple as a lone black line. In manufacturing LCD projectors can be adjusted to minimize these effects on the projected image, as each colour is refracted on separate LCD panels.
The one true buy point (excluding price) with going with a DLP projector is its smaller size and weight. However, this is only relevant in regard to transport and needs to be traded off against the image advantages of LCD projectors. If the result of the picture quality is crucial to you, then the solution is easy. Choose an LCD projector! LCD projectors will constantly produce bright, colourful images with fewer image errors. Charles and his brother James, the duke of York (James II, ruled 1685–88), ordered for additional yachts and in 1662 raced two of them from the Thames, from Greenwich, to Gravesend, and back, on a £100 bet. Yachting became fashionable for the wealthy and nobility, but after that point the fashion did not last.
The first yacht club in the British Isles, the Water Club, was instigated in about 1720 at Cork, Ire., as a cruising and unofficial coast guard organization, and held large naval panoply and formality. The closest thing to a race was the “chase,” for which the “fleet” pursued a fictional enemy. The club went on, for the large part as a social club, until 1765, and in 1828, when merging with other societies, it became the Cork Yacht Club (later the Royal Cork Yacht Club).
Yacht racing was first seen in some organized method on the Thames in the mid-18th century. The duke of Cumberland funded the Cumberland Fleet for Thames racing in 1775. When George IV ascended to sovereignty in 1820, it came to be called the Fleet to His Majesty’s Coronation Sailing Society. The Thames Yacht Club seceded with a racing argument, to become the Royal Thames Yacht Club in 1830. The first English yacht society had been started at Cowes on the Isle of Wight in 1815, and royal sponsorship made the Solent – the strait between the mainland and the Isle of Wight – the continuing location of British racing. The society at Cowes became the Royal Yachting Club, again at the ascension of George IV. Each member was required to have boats of at least 20 tons (20,321 kg). Sailing matches for high bets were held, and the social life was lovely. It came to be that the Royal Yachting Club boats were raised in size to over 350 tons.
In North America, yachting started with the Dutch in New York in the 17th century and persisted when the English had dominance. Sailing was for the most part for pleasure and rose to its epitome in George Crowinshield’s Cleopatra’s Barge (1815), which sailed on the Mediterranean Sea and created a standard of luxury and sophistication for the later yachts in that area from the late 19th century. The first continuing American yacht society, the Detroit Boat Club, was started in 1839. In 1844, John C. Stevens began the New York Yacht Club while aboard his schooner Gimcrack.
Kinds of sailboats
The Early sailing yachts followed the style of such naval craft as brigantines, schooners, and cutters from the 17th century through the later half of the 19th century. The style of large yachts was first largely affected by the success of America, which was designed by George Steers for a association started by John C. Stevens, and it was the boat for which the America’s Cup (q.v.) had its namesake after its victory at Cowes in 1851. The first yachts were not designed and built in a contemporary sense, with merely a model for an outline. Not until the later half of the 19th century did what was called naval architecture come into being. Not until the 1920s did the use of the study of aerodynamics do for the structure of sails and rigging what science had earlier done for hulls.
Because almost all sailboats had been individually built, there was a need for handicapping boats before the one-design class boats were built. Hence, a rating rule was decreed, which resulted in the International Rule, accepted in 1906 and amended in 1919. In the present day, one of the rapidly growing areas in sailing is that of one-design class boats. All boats in a one-design class are created to standard requirements in length, beam, sail area, and other elements (for an example of a two-person sailboat, see illustration). Racing for those boats can be had on an even par with no handicapping at all. A perfect example is the standard International America’s Cup Class taken on for racers in the 1992 America’s Cup race.
As long as yachting belonged largely for the nobility and the affluent, expense was no problem, and the size of boats increased, in both length and weight. The promotion and desire of smaller boats came in the latter half of the 19th century in the sailing of the Englishmen R.T. McMullen, a stockbroker, and E.F. Knight, a barrister and journalist. A trip around the world (1895–98) captained single-handedly by the naturalized American captain Joshua Slocum in the 11.3-metre Spray proved the seaworthiness of small craft. Following this in the 20th century, particularly after World War II, smaller racing and pleasure yachts became more common, down to the dinghy, a favoured training boat, of 3.7 m. In the late 20th century, yachts of less than 3 m were traveled in single-handedly across the Atlantic Ocean.
Kinds of power yachts
Following the decade 1840–50, during which steam was set to replace sail power in commercial boats, the steam engine, and later the internal-combustion engine, were increasingly used in personal craft. Bigger power yachts were progressed to a high degree, and long-distance sailing was a favoured occupation of the affluent. The early power yachts were paddle-wheel boats; these then made way to those powered by the completely submerged screw or propeller kind of propulsion. Like naval and merchant vessels, auxiliaries with both sail and power were the yacht standard for several years. By the later half of the 20th century, several yachts were still auxiliaries, but the larger part were exclusively power yachts containing gasoline or diesel engines.
During the last decade of the 19th century there was a push in the manufacture of more sizeable steam yachts. In particular within these was the Mayflower (1897) of 2,690 tons, containing triple-expansion engines, twin screws, and a compartmented iron hull, and was sailed by a crew of more than 150. The Mayflower, commissioned by the United States Navy in 1898, was the official yacht of the president of the United States until 1929 and gave active service during World War II.
As more sizeable and more dependable internal-combustion engines were created, many bigger craft were using them for power. The development of the diesel engine, using heavy oil for fuel, progressed in World War I. In the decade after that, bigger power-yacht manufacture blossomed, hitting a climax in the Orion (1930) at 3,097 tons. During that point the biggest auxiliary yacht built was the four-masted, steel, barque-rigged Sea Cloud (1931) of 2,323 tons.
The manufacture of large power boats lessened after 1932, and the style thereafter was for smaller, less pricey boats. From World War II, many small naval vessels were traded by private owners for conversion to yachts. In the late 20th century, yachting had become a internationally popular sport enjoyed by thousands of yachtsmen individually manning and upkeeping their own small leisure yachts. The number of boats and sailors is increasing steadily, not only in the traditional locations along the sea but also on inland waterways and lakes.

Taxes are distinguished by the impact they have on the placement of income and wealth. A proportional tax is a kind that puts the same relative liability on each taxpayer—i.e., when tax liability and income grow in the same levels. A progressive tax is recognised by a higher than proportional increase in the tax burden relative to the growth in income, and a regressive tax is characterized by a less than proportional rise in the relative burden. So, progressive taxes are viewed as fighting inequity in income distribution, whereas regressive taxes may have the effect of an increase in these inequalities.
The taxes that are often considered progressive include individual income taxes and estate taxes. Income taxes that are categorically progressive, however, might become less so within the upper-income group—particularly if a taxpayer is permitted to reduce his tax base by declaring deductions or by removing some particular income parts from his taxable income. Proportional tax rates which are applied to lower-income classes will also be more progressive if such personal exemptions are claimed.
Income measured over the course of a given period does not absolutely give the most accurate measure of taxpaying status. For example, transitory increases in income can be saved, and within temporary declines in income a taxpayer might decide to provide for consumption by reducing savings. So, if taxation is regarded with “permanent income,” it would be less regressive (or more progressive) than if made comparable with annual income.
Sales taxes and excises (with the exception of those on luxuries) are mostly regressive, because the share of personal income consumed or spent for specific goods declines as the amount of personal income grows. Poll taxes (aka head taxes), levied as a standard amount per capita, patently are regressive.
It is complicated to dictate corporate income taxes and taxes on business as progressive, regressive, or proportionate, principally because of the uncertainty regarding the ability of businesses to shift their tax expenses (see below Shifting and incidence). This difficulty of dictating who bears the tax burden is dependant fundamentally on whether a national or a subnational (that is, provincial or state) tax is being determined.
In analysing the economic effect of taxation, it is essential to distinguish between differing points of tax rates. The statutory rates will be dictated in legislation; often these are marginal rates, but occasionally they are median rates. Marginal income tax rates note the fraction of incremental income taken by taxation when income grows by one dollar. Hence, if tax liability grows by 45 cents when income grows by one dollar, the marginal tax rate is 45 percent. Income tax legislation generally contain graduated marginal rates—i.e., rates that rise as income rises. Careful analysis of marginal tax rates must regard provisions other than the formal statutory rate structure. If, for example, a particular tax credit (reduction in tax) falls by 20 cents for each one-dollar growth in income, the marginal rate is 20 percentage points greater than specified in the statutory rates. Since marginal rates indicate how after-tax income is changed in response to changes in before-tax income, they are the important ones for considering incentive effects of taxation. It is even more difficult to know the marginal effective tax rate applicable to income from business and capital, as it may depend on such considerations as the structure of depreciation allowances, the deductibility of interest, and the provisions for inflation adjustment. A basic economic theorem holds that the marginal effective tax rate in income from capital is zero under a consumption-based tax.
Average income tax rates determine the fraction of total income that is demanded in taxation. The pattern of average rates is the one that is necessary for assessing the distributional equity of taxation. Under a progressive income tax the average income tax rate grows with income. Average income tax rates generally grow with income, both because personal allowances are permitted for the taxpayer and dependents and due to that marginal tax rates are graduated; conversely, preferential treatment of income received mostly by high-income households could dampen these effects, forcing regressivity, as shown by average tax rates that decrease as income rises.
