Take charge of getting your site actualized by a developer and understand the process it will save you money and aquire you a site that actually works the intended purpose!

A logo is a very important step to creating a business. It is the face of your business. And like your face represents the tone of your business, gestures the service and screams the professionalism or lack there of.
People spend a lot of money on the formation of their logo and walk away with no artwork files. Then a couple months down the track when they require to put signage on their new building they cannot track the design studio down that created the original logo for them and so incur costs to have it redone. This is unnecessary and may cause difficulties when trying to recreate the logo exactly as done originally.
We have created some basic tips you for to think about when creating a logo. Hopefully these will help you from experiencing any future obstacles.
Tip 1
First things first – you need to decide if you would like your logo to have an accompanying icon. It is hinted that if your service or product name is not in your business name then perhaps an icon will assist in conveying a clear message across to your target audience.
An icon can add an extra element to your branding in that you could use the icon on its own on collateral where perhaps you are searching for a more illustrative finish without losing recognition.

Tip 2
Colour can be an crucial decision as it not only could change the output costs but can also hinder your output use. Consider the end result and what you will be assigning your branding onto in the future. Make sure your designer is aware of this as they should design accordingly.

Make certain you get a back up disk of your logo as a master file and insure that it includes all the files required for the different printing formats.
Creative software updates frequently and some programmes become obsolete. Make sure you have a copy of your logo as a PDF – with the text converted to curves.

Using images in your logo is not very easy to arrange. For example it is troublesome to reverse into black and white. Images also have limitations when it comes to size – they can only be reproduced to a certain size before they start pixilation.

Using gradients in your logo is not recommended. This too can have limitations when it comes to output for ie: gradients are hard to reproduce when embroidering fabrics.

Make sure that you get a copy of your logo in CMYK high resolution 300 dpi (for printing use) and RGB 72 dpi(for web use).

It is important to have a style guide of your logo. It will clearly show you how to use your logo so it looks exactly the same every time it is reproduced. This allows you to keep your corporate image consistent.
Tip 9
Make sure that you get a letter from the design studio declaring that you own the copyright to your logo.

How many times have you dispatched business cards to print and received yet another version of your corporate colour? Ever been delighted to see your advert in the latest newspaper and then caught that the crucial tag line is missing or your logo has been wrecked.
There is only one way to thwart this from happening and that is to set up a style guide. Not only will a style guide help you oversee the reproduction of your logo – it will also help you sustain your brand recognition – which many argue is one of the strongest selling tools.

Step 1 : Define the audience for your Style Guide. Is this for staff to use in-house or is this for suppliers and contractors to refer to?

The most typical question asked when acquiring a new projector for the home, office, or classroom is: should I buy an LCD projector or a DLP projector? LCD, which stands for ‘liquid crystal device’ and DLP, short for ‘digital light processing’ are the two most common projector imaging technologies. With so many company brands and different models available, it can be difficult for customers to make a decision between these technologies. Ultimately LCD projectors provide far superior image quality and colour accuracy. The next paragraph tells you why DLP projectors struggle with creating a similar standard of image quality.
It’s like a set of blinds in your house covering your bedroom window. By a twist of a rod you can have the shutters open or closed, according to whether you want to let light in or not. That is exactly how an LCD projector works. Each pixel operates like its own shutter on a set of blinds to either shine light through or to block it. DLP on the other hand is formed of millions of microscopic mirrors or ‘pixel elements’ as the pros like to call them. Each pixel element works to either reflect light or block it.
How the light source is processed from the time the projector is turned on to when the picture reaches your screen is absolutely important with regard to image quality, brightness and colour accuracy. LCD projectors project white light from the lamp by cutting it into red, blue and green components, by three mirrors which direct the coloured light to 3 individual LCD panels. The 3 LCD panels make the elements of the image by shining each pixel on and off. The pixels are then projected in a glass prism to send the projector image. Something to realise about LCD projectors is that all three colours are sent onto your projected surface at the same time. The way a DLP projector operates is vastly different and even how an image shows up is not the same. With DLP, white light from the lamp is processed through a turning colour wheel with transparent red, blue and green segments, at speeds up to 11,000 rpm/s. This method of projecting an image forms a sequence of red, blue and green light. The millions of micro mirrors as described above reflect the coloured light on the pixels to form the image elements. The elements of the image are projected in sequence on the screen, one colour at a time. The viewer’s vision will then combine each coloured element of the image into a single complete image. With LCD projectors, all colours are available all the time to deliver the highest brightness and superb colour accuracy. In DLP, just one colour is available at any given time, and so causing lower colour brightness and accuracy. Some DLP developers have placed a white segment into the colour wheel to improve overall brightness, but this goes and lessens colour accuracy.
I hear in forums all the time that DLP offers a higher contrast ratio and therefore must be better quality. For those unaware, the contrast ratio is a measure of a display system defined as the ratio of the luminance of the brightest white to that of the darkest black that the projector is capable of. DLP projectors do provide high contrast specifications compared to the majority of LCD projectors. At a glance, this seems to be a plus, however, in truth, the true black level is determined by the ambient light in the room when the projector is in use. Do not be fooled by contrast specifications on websites and in brochures.
When the content you want to view has moving images, DLP projection technology also creates image imperfections, or ‘artifacts’. The most commonplace artifact that a DLP projector displays with moving images is colour break up. Colour break up is inherent in DLP systems because moving images keep changing between the time red, blue and green colours are projected. LCD projectors do not have this characteristic because every colour is sent simultaneously. DLP manufacturers have developed 3DLP solutions using 3 chips to fix the colour break up issue, but the cost of these projectors make them almost impossible for the majority of businesses and consumers.
Another point of difference between LCD and DLP is how they compensate for the refractive qualities of light. Take yourself back to high school science, and they taught you how different colours of light refract varied amounts when passing through the same lens. The disadvantage with DLP projectors is that they take the one same panel and the same lens to project Red, Blue and Green. All 3 colours are different and refract light in a different way. Usually with a DLP projector, an extra yellow colour will show above and an extra blue will be projected below an image containing something as simple as a single black line. In building LCD projectors can be set to take away these effects on the projected image, as each colour is directed on isolated LCD panels.
The sole real advantage (excluding price) with choosing a DLP projector is its smaller size and weight. However, this is only relevant with regard to transporting the device and needs to be traded off against the image advantages of LCD projectors. If the outcome of the picture quality is vital to you, then the choice is simple. Choose an LCD projector! LCD projectors will consistently produce bright, colourful images with fewer image blips. As the Dutch found dominance in sea power during the 17th century, the first yacht was a leisure craft used first by royalty and secondly by the burghers for the canals and then in the protected and unprotected waters of the Low Countries. Yacht racing was incidental, arising as private games. English yachting originated with King Charles II of England during his exile in the Low Countries. On his restoration to the English royalty in 1660, the city of Amsterdam presented him with a 20-metre (66-foot) pleasure boat with a beam (maximum width) of 5.6 m (18 feet), which he called Mary. Charles and his brother James, the duke of York (James II, sovereign 1685–88), made additional yachts and in 1662 raced two of them from the Thames, from Greenwich, to Gravesend, and returning, on a £100 bet. Yachting rose as popular among the wealthy and aristocracy, but after that time the habit did not last.
The first yacht club in the British Isles, the Water Club, was formed around about 1720 at Cork, Ire., as a cruising and unofficial coast guard association, with great naval panoply and gravity. The closest thing to a race was the “chase,” for which the “fleet” pursued a fictional enemy. The club persisted, mostly as a social club, until 1765, and in 1828, after merging with other societies, it was known as the Cork Yacht Club (later the Royal Cork Yacht Club).
Yacht racing was seen in some ordered manner on the Thames about the mid-18th century. The duke of Cumberland funded the Cumberland Fleet for Thames racing in 1775. When George IV ascended to sovereignty in 1820, it came to be known as the Fleet to His Majesty’s Coronation Sailing Society. The Thames Yacht Club seceded with a racing fight, to become the Royal Thames Yacht Club in 1830. The first English yacht association had been formed at Cowes on the Isle of Wight in 1815, and royal sponsorship made the Solent – the strait between the mainland and the Isle of Wight – the continued setting of British racing. The association at Cowes became the Royal Yachting Club, likewise at the accession of George IV. Each member was required to possess boats of at least 20 tons (20,321 kg). Sailing tests for high stakes were held, and the society life was splendid. It came to be that the Royal Yachting Club boats grew in size to more than 350 tons.
In North America, yachting started with the Dutch in New York in the 17th century and continued when the English had dominance. Sailing was for the most part for leisure and found its epitome in George Crowinshield’s Cleopatra’s Barge (1815), which sailed on the Mediterranean Sea and established a minimum of luxury and sophistication for the later yachts in that area from the late 19th century. The first continuing American yacht association, the Detroit Boat Club, was started in 1839. In 1844, John C. Stevens founded the New York Yacht Club aboard his schooner Gimcrack.
Kinds of sailboats
The first sailing yachts took the lines of such naval craft as brigantines, schooners, and cutters from the 17th century through to the latter half of the 19th century. The style of sizeable yachts was originally greatly put upon by the success of America, which was drawn by George Steers for a group started by John C. Stevens, and it was the boat for which the America’s Cup (q.v.) had its namesake after its victory at Cowes in 1851. The first yachts were not designed and manufactured in a contemporary sense, with only a model used. Not until the later half of the 19th century did what was known as naval architecture come about. Not until the 1920s did the employment of the science of aerodynamics do for the structure of sails and rigging what it had done earlier for hulls.
Because almost all sailboats had to be individually custom-built, there arose a desire for handicapping boats as this was before the one-design class boats were designed. Therefore, a rating rule was decreed, which is found in the International Rule, adopted in 1906 and amended in 1919. In the present day, one of the fastest flourishing areas in the field of sailing is that of one-design class boats. All boats in a one-design class are manufactured to standard dimensions in length, beam, sail area, and other aspects (for an example of a two-person sailboat, see illustration). Racing for those boats can be done on an even par with no handicapping necessary. A prime example is the standard International America’s Cup Class taken on board for participants in the 1992 America’s Cup race.
As long as yachting belonged primarily for the aristocracy and the affluent, money was no problem, and the size of boats developed, in both length and weight. The rise and popularity of smaller yachts came in the second half of the 19th century out of the sailing of the Englishmen R.T. McMullen, a stockbroker, and E.F. Knight, a barrister and journalist. A voyage around the world (1895–98) captained single-handedly by the naturalized American captain Joshua Slocum in the 11.3-metre Spray demonstrated the value of smaller craft. Following this in the 20th century, notably after World War II, smaller racing and leisure craft became more common, down to the dinghy, a favourite training boat, of 3.7 m. In the late 20th century, craft of less than 3 m were sailed single-handedly across the Atlantic Ocean.
Kinds of power yachts
Following the decade 1840–50, at which point steam was set to take the place of sail power in public craft, the steam engine, and later the internal-combustion engine, were increasingly employed in pleasure boats. Large power yachts were progressed to a high degree, and long-distance travel was a favoured pastime of the well off. The first power yachts were paddle-wheel boats; they then gave way to those powered by the wholly submerged screw or propeller sort of propulsion. Like naval and merchant boats, auxiliaries carrying both sail and power were the yacht archetype for a number of years. By the second half of the 20th century, many yachts were still auxiliaries, but the larger part were solely power yachts containing gasoline or diesel engines.
From the last decade of the 19th century there was a boom in the manufacture of large steam yachts. In particular of these was the Mayflower (1897) of 2,690 tons, that had triple-expansion engines, twin screws, and a compartmented iron hull, and was sailed by a crew of over 150. The Mayflower, commissioned by the United States Navy in 1898, was the official yacht of the president of the United States until 1929 and gave active service for World War II.
As more sizeable and more dependable internal-combustion engines were produced, many big yachts started using them for power. The development of the diesel engine, using heavy oil for fuel, progressed in World War I. During the decade after, large power-yacht building flourished, reaching a climax in the Orion (1930) at 3,097 tons. From that period the largest auxiliary yacht built was the four-masted, steel, barque-rigged Sea Cloud (1931) of 2,323 tons.
The construction of large power yachts fell away in 1932, and the trend thereafter was for smaller, less costly yachts. After World War II, a lot of small naval craft were traded by private owners for conversion to yachts. In the late 20th century, yachting had become a internationally loved sport enjoyed by thousands of yachtsmen personally manning and keeping their own small recreational yachts. The amount of craft and yachtsmen increased steadily, not only in the traditional places along the sea but also on inland waterways and lakes.

Taxes can be categorized by the impact they have on the placement of income and wealth. A proportional tax is one that impinges the same relative liability on each taxpayer—i.e., when tax liability and income grow in equal levels. A progressive tax is characterizable by a greater than proportional rise in the tax liability in regard to the growth in income, and a regressive tax is recognised by a less than proportional rise in the related liability. Therefore, progressive taxes are thought of as fighting inequalities in income distribution, but regressive taxes are believed to have the effect of increasing these inequalities.
The taxes that are often considered progressive include individual income taxes and estate taxes. Income taxes that are nominally progressive, however, may become less so for the upper-income categories—especially if a taxpayer is able to lower his tax base by claiming deductions or by leaving out some certain income elements from his taxable income. Proportional tax rates if applied to lower-income classes can also be more progressive if exemptions of a personal nature are claimed.
Income measured over the period of a given year may not necessarily come up with the most appropriate measure of taxpaying requirement. For example, transitory increases in income could be saved, and in temporary declines in income a taxpayer may select to provide for consumption by decreasing savings. Thus, if taxation is made comparable along with “permanent income,” it can be less regressive (or more progressive) than if compared with annual income.
Sales taxes and excises (save those on luxuries) are usually regressive, because the share of one’s income consumed or spent for a specific good lessens as the amount of personal income increases. Poll taxes (also called head taxes), calculated as a flat amount per capita, patently are regressive.
It is not simple to dictate corporate income taxes and taxes on business as progressive, regressive, or proportionate, due to uncertainty about the ability of businesses to shift their tax expenses (see below Shifting and incidence). This difficulty of deciding who bears the tax burden is dependant fundamentally on whether a national or a subnational (that is, provincial or state) tax is being debated.
In assessing the economic purposes of taxation, it is important to distinguish between several concepts of tax rates. The statutory rates are those dictated in legislation; usually these are marginal rates, but sometimes they are mean rates. Marginal income tax rates indicate the fraction of incremental income demanded by taxation when income increases by one dollar. Therefore, if tax burden grows by 45 cents when income increases by one dollar, the marginal tax rate is 45 percent. Income tax statutes usually contain graduated marginal rates—i.e., rates that increase as income rises. Structured analysis of marginal tax rates must review provisions other than the formal statutory rate structure. If, for example, a particular tax credit (reduction in tax) decreases by 20 cents for each one-dollar rise in income, the marginal rate is 20 percentage points higher than indicated within the statutory rates. Since marginal rates indicate how after-tax income changes in response to changes in before-tax income, they are the necessary ones for considering incentive effects of taxation. It is even more difficult to understand the marginal effective tax rate applicable to income from business and capital, as it may be reliant on such factors as the structure of depreciation allowances, the deductibility of interest, and the provisions for inflation adjustment. A basic economic theorem determines that the marginal effective tax rate in income from capital is zero under a consumption-based tax.
Average income tax rates show the portion of total income that is paid in taxation. The pattern of average rates is the one that is necessary for assessing the distributional equity of taxation. Under a progressive income tax the average income tax rate increases with income. Average income tax rates generally increase with income, both because personal allowances are provided for the taxpayer and dependents and also because marginal tax rates are graduated; on the other hand, preferential treatment of income received predominantly by high-income households might dwarf these effects, producing regressivity, as indicated by average tax rates that lessen as income increases.
